Staff at a motel in Recto Avenue, Manila were filmed beating a rioter amid the chaos on September 21.
In the video that went viral, a SWAT officer can be seen dragging the man to the motel staff. Once there, they simultaneously punched and kicked the rioter. He can even be heard pleading, “enough, enough.”
According to the police, the man was brought in for identification, not to be beaten. But the angry staff could not control their emotions.
The incident was linked to rioters entering the motel, where they allegedly stole the vault and employees' belongings.
Across the riots, up to 216 people were arrested, including several minors.
