Thousands of people marched to the People Power Monument on EDSA this September 21, 2025. It was called the “Trillion Peso March”, coinciding with the anniversary of Martial Law as a symbol against abuse and corruption.
The rain could not stop families, youth, churches, workers, and various groups from coming together. White Plains Avenue was filled, leading to road closures. There were also simultaneous protests in various cities across the country.
The program opened with songs and prayers of various religions. This was followed by cries of “Lock up the scoundrels!” as some held white ribbons and crocodile balloons as symbols of corrupt officials.
The anger was further fueled by the revelation that multi-billion peso flood control funds were stolen over a 15-year period through kickbacks and ghost projects. According to the report, the economy lost nearly ₱118.5 billion from 2023 to 2025 due to corruption.
Well-known personalities such as Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Angel Aquino, and Dingdong Dantes also joined the gathering. According to protest leaders, the protest action will continue until there is accountability and justice for the people.
