The suspect in the killing of prominent US activist Charlie Kirk has been arrested after a relative reported the incident. Authorities say Tyler Robinson, 22, surrendered after his family notified police.
Kirk, 31, was shot in the neck while speaking at a rally at Utah Valley University. He was known as a strong voice in the far-right movement and was a major supporter of Donald Trump in the last election.
During the investigation, police discovered bullets inscribed with anti-fascist slogans such as “Hey, fascist! Catch!” and “Bella ciao.” The high-powered rifle used was also found near the scene of the incident.
Many supporters gathered for the vigil wearing MAGA caps and carrying American flags. Many said they still can't believe what happened.
Trump, meanwhile, has said he wants the death penalty for the suspect. Kirk's casket was flown back to his hometown in Phoenix on an official government plane.
