Three Chinese nationals who pretended to be Filipinos were arrested in Davao City, according to the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
The suspects were identified as Xu Yonglian, 38; Lin Jinxing, 42; and Cai Xiji, 44, and were arrested on September 5 by the BI regional intelligence division. According to the BI, they were illegally staying and working in the country.
Xu allegedly used a Filipino name for business in Davao, despite having a working visa for a company in Binondo, Manila. Lin was caught working even though his visa was only a tourist visa, while Cai had a working visa in Binondo but was working in Davao.
The operation against illegal aliens was conducted jointly with the Philippine Army, Air Force, and PNP, particularly at Sta. Ana and Davao City police stations.
The BI advised everyone to ensure that their visa and documents are correct to avoid legal problems.
