Rapper Kendrick Lamar officially has two Emmy Awards. He and music director Tony Russell won the Outstanding Music Direction award for the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show.
The show was billed as the most-watched halftime show in NFL history, with 133.5 million viewers or approximately ₱7.8 billion in viewership when converted to peso values. Lamar was joined on stage by Samuel L. Jackson, SZA, Serena Williams, and Mustard as special guests.
Lamar first won his Emmy in 2022 as part of Dr. Dre's Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show. That award was for Outstanding Variety Special (Live).
By winning, Lamar further cemented his reputation as one of the most important artists of his generation—from music to live performances.
