A 17-year-old motorcycle rider died while five were injured after a tricycle and motorcycle collided on Sapang Palay Road, San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan past 8 p.m. Wednesday.
According to police, the tricycle driver overtook a vehicle and entered the lane of the motorcycle, causing the collision. The 24-year-old motorcycle rider, the 22-year-old tricycle driver, and three passengers aged 15, 17, and 18 were injured.
The front of the tricycle was destroyed where the motorcycle went straight. The victims were immediately rushed to the hospital but the rider was declared dead on arrival. Investigation also revealed that the tricycle was traveling at high speed.
No helmet or protective gear was found at the scene of the incident. The victim's family wants to file a complaint against the tricycle driver.
