PAGCOR plans to use artificial intelligence (AI) to identify gambling addicts and fraudsters in the country's growing online gambling industry.
According to Chairman Alejandro Tengco, they are starting to look for AI tools that can help with stricter regulations. One of its uses is AI-powered e-KYC that can detect fake or altered IDs. This way, fraud will be reduced and minors will be prevented from registering.
He further explained that if the AI detects dangerous gambling behavior, there will automatically be a “cooling period.” The account will be suspended and the player can only continue if there is a good reason and the regulator approves.
PAGCOR also plans to use AI that can track thousands of player movements in real time. Because of this, they can more easily spot risky patterns and take action before the problem worsens.
Meanwhile, the public is also encouraged to report illegal online gambling and fake ads appearing on social media. In this way, the fight against illegal gambling will be further strengthened and players will be protected.
