The incident occurred in Lipa City, Batangas where a woman was found unconscious inside a tricycle in Villa Beatriz Subdivision, Barangay Tambo. According to police, at around 7:30 a.m., the victim was found with severe bruises on her face and other parts of her body. She was immediately taken to the hospital but died a few hours later.
Based on the autopsy, the cause of death was severe beating. CCTV footage showed the victim coming out of a house at around 2:00 a.m., struggling to walk, and sitting on the road near the area where he was found. In other footage, the victim and a man can be seen together before they board a tricycle.
The man was identified as the owner of the house where the victim came from. The woman's underwear was also found inside the house. The man was arrested and confessed to the crime. According to him, they had an argument after allegedly agreeing to “sexual services.” The suspect said he pushed the victim and she fell, and when they argued again, he hurt her even more.
The family recognized the victim after seeing the photos. According to the brother, they had not seen each other for four years and only talked through chat. The victim has six children, four in the province and two other young ones. Due to lack of money, the family decided not to have the remains exhumed and will only place a tombstone when there are enough funds.
The suspect is facing murder charges, while investigations are ongoing into whether a sexual assault occurred.
