A woman in Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya was arrested after being caught with shabu hidden in a Bible. This was discovered during an anti-drug operation conducted by the police and PDEA in Barangay Bone North.
The suspect was identified as Maria (not her real name). 15 medium plastic sachets of shabu, each weighing 1 gram, were recovered from her. In addition, 3 more sachets of shabu hidden in a Bible, estimated to be worth ₱1,020, were also discovered.
Also confiscated during the operation were a cellphone, a coin purse, and some drug paraphernalia. According to the police report, the operation was conducted after receiving information about the suspect's alleged drug trafficking.
Maria is now facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Meanwhile, authorities continue to hunt for her live-in partner, who is believed to be an accomplice.
