A TNVS driver from InDrive was kicked off the platform after allegedly threatening a passenger with a knife. According to InDrive, they immediately blocked the driver after he failed to respond to their investigation. They admitted that they have zero tolerance for any form of intimidation or violence.
Bayan Patroller Tinne Vertudazo captured the incident on video after the driver lost his temper due to a misunderstanding over the drop-off location. Vertudazo said that the location they chose was at a condo in Binondo, but the driver forced them to get off at another location. When they refused, the driver allegedly said bad things to them.
CCTV footage showed that after the passenger got off, the driver returned to the vehicle and took out a knife. He allegedly tried to threaten the couple. That's why Vertudazo filed a complaint with the Manila Police and he plans to file a case.
The LTO suspended the driver's license for 90 days. The agency also summoned the operator, driver, and InDrive representative for a hearing. According to the DOTr, InDrive should be held accountable for the actions of their drivers.
The driver's defense is that the passenger's PIN was wrong and that the knife he was carrying was just a toy. He requested that the LTO and InDrive hear his side again so that his license can be reinstated.
