Girl Found Dead in Mandaue River

The body of an 11-year-old girl was found floating in the river of Sitio Kanipaan, Barangay Basak, Mandaue City this morning of June 10.

Authorities and emergency personnel immediately responded to pull the body from the water. Also present were several residents and onlookers who watched as the retrieval operation was underway.

The child's body has been taken to a funeral parlor. According to authorities, he may have drowned, but an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of his death.

This incident shocked residents in the area, especially since the victim was young. Authorities are continuing their investigation.
