The seven big bosses of the JP Dragon Group, a major syndicate in Japan, were arrested by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) for various illegal activities. They were arrested in Bulacan and Manila on May 21.
According to BI Commissioner Joel Anthony M. Viado, the group is involved in fraud senior citizens in Japan. Their usual modus operandi is to impersonate authorities to extort large sums of money. They have been charged with theft and have warrants of arrest from Japan.
Naoto Matsumoto was also seized as an overstaying alien. Hiraki Ishikawa, Tsubasa Amano, Sasaki Ken, Akira Sambonchiku, Rintaro Yamane, and Masato Morihiro were arrested with legal cases in Japan. Investigations are ongoing against the group that allegedly intimidated and robbed the elderly using ATMs.
