A female tourist, Mary Crist Domingo Soreño, 45 years old from Binangonan, Rizal, drowned after the banana boat she was riding capsized in Dinahican, Infanta, Quezon this afternoon.
According to the police report, Soreño and his group rented a banana boat for their vacation at Berna's Beach Resort. In the middle of the sea, strong waves suddenly arrived, causing their vehicle to capsize.
Although the victim was wearing a life vest, she still did not survive. Three crew members immediately attempted to help, but Mary Crist eventually sank and was declared dead at the hospital. Police are continuing their investigation to determine the details and responsibility for the incident.
