Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning came in second, earning $27.3 million in the United States and Canada. Despite this, the film still cost a lot, reaching $400 million.
In third place is the new film Karate Kid: Legends starring Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan, which earned $21 million at the domestic box office. In fourth and fifth place are horror films Final Destination: Bloodlines and Bring Her Back, both of which had strong openings despite smaller budgets.
