Maroon 5 and BLACKPINK's LISA have collaborated for their first single titled "Priceless." This is the first time that the K-pop artist and the popular band Adam Levine have teamed up. In addition to the song, they have also released new visuals for the music video.
The song has a sound from Maroon 5's early 2000s pop roots, and is accompanied by LISA's K-pop style. The music video was inspired by the film Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and attempted to give it a retro feel using 35mm film. Aerin Moreno directed the video. According to Adam Levine, he said that the song is "guitar-based" which they haven't done in a long time. They missed this sound and were so happy to have LISA on the project.
The song's guitar intro is an audio message that Levine played with an unplugged guitar on his iPhone, so he got a little emotional while recording it. As he says, “We reconnected with our roots, and I saw that the fans wanted to hear this sound again.” It's been over 20 years since they did it.
After a teaser on Instagram that showcased Levine's falsetto vocals, the band announced that the song will be part of their upcoming album, following their 2021 project Jordi. Watch the music video and listen to the track below.
