A man was shot dead on Thursday night, March 13, 2025, at N. Cuevas Street, Barangay Kalawaan, Pasig City. According to reports, several gunshots were heard in the area, causing panic among residents. The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) is still investigating the identity of the victim and the perpetrator. They are also looking into whether this is related to previous incidents of violence in the city. According to some witnesses, a motorcycle quickly fled after the incident, which may have been used by the perpetrators.
In recent months, several shooting incidents have been reported in Pasig City. On January 19, 2024, a man was broken into at his rented house in Barangay Kapasigan and shot several times. On October 29, 2024, a 40-year-old man was shot dead by his friend on Feliciano Street.
According to the PNP, these shootings may be related to personal disputes, illegal drugs, or other motives. Authorities assure that they will continue to tighten security in the area to maintain peace. They also encourage residents to be alert and immediately report any suspicious activity in their community.
Barangay officials also appealed to the public not to be afraid to cooperate with authorities. They believe that through community unity and thorough investigation by the PNP, cases of violence in Pasig City can be addressed and resolved.
