Nicolas Cage in Spider-Noir: Gritty Action and Noir Vibes

Nicolas Cage has officially entered the live-action Spider-Verse in the new trailer for Spider-Noir. In the teaser, the actor is seen as Ben Reilly, a private investigator in 1930s New York, sporting a trench coat and fedora—a far cry from the colorful animation of his previous Spider-Verse version. The series showcases a more darker and more mature Spider-Man, full of action and noir vibes.

The story centers on Ben Reilly, a once-famous superhero who is now battling his past. He can be seen in smoky nightclubs, gangland encounters, and other seedy corners of the city. At the same time, his simple life is also shown—relaxing by drinking egg creams while stopping criminals. The series features a more realistic and grounded character compared to the animated version.

Visually, Spider-Noir pays tribute to classic cinema. One unique feature is its dual-format release: it can be viewed in either black-and-white or True-Hue color version. This allows viewers to choose the aesthetic experience they prefer, adding an immersive factor to the storytelling.

The trailer also features the ensemble cast: Lamorne Morris as journalist Robbie Robertson, Brendan Gleeson as mob boss Silvermane, and Li Jun Li as femme fatale Cat Hardy. Also included are Jack Huston as Flint Marko (Sandman) and Karen Rodriguez in other supporting roles, showcasing the series' dynamic character mix.

Spider-Noir is scheduled to premiere on MGM+ on May 25, 2026, followed by a global release on Prime Video on May 27, 2026. All episodes are now available for binge-watching, which is sure to please fans of Marvel and the noir genre. This is the new face of the Spider-Verse—dark, stylish, and action-packed.
