Blizzard Entertainment has officially released Diablo II: Resurrected – Reign of the Warlock, a major update that brings the first new playable class to the game in 25 years. This expansion invites players to master the forbidden arts and face new hellish challenges.
The center of the update is the Warlock, a dark scholar with the ability to bind demons and wield Eldritch and Chaos magic. This class features three distinct skill trees, allowing players to enslave enemies such as Goatmen and Tainted Defilers, or cast apocalyptic fire from a distance. In addition, the Warlock has a unique passive ability that lets weapons float, enabling the use of two-handed weapons and off-hand items at the same time. To support the new class, Blizzard also introduced Grimoires, a new type of off-hand item that enhances elemental damage.
In addition to the new character, there have also been major changes to the endgame content. Terror Zones will now rotate every 30 minutes, offering faster farming loops. Players can also hunt down Heralds of Terror to obtain statues that unlock Colossal Ancients, a new pinnacle boss encounter.
The update also includes some long-awaited quality-of-life improvements, such as customizable Loot Filter and Advanced Stash Tabs that allow stacking gems and runes. These features will help ensure smoother and faster gameplay for all players.
The cinematic trailer for Reign of the Warlock is now available to watch online. The expansion is now available on Battle.net, consoles, and for the first time, on Steam, giving even more players the chance to experience the new Diablo II: Resurrected adventure.
