
A fire broke out in a residential area at Blk. 36, Bgy. Addition Hills, Mandaluyong City, at around 6:00 a.m. on Monday, January 19. Residents in their surroundings immediately felt threatened by the sudden burst of fire into the houses.
According to the BFP Mandaluyong, the fire was raised to third alarm at around 7:30 a.m. to extinguish the fire faster and protect surrounding homes. The quick response of firefighters helped avert a wider disaster.
At 8:56 a.m., authorities declared the situation fire under control. However, they are continuing to extinguish remaining fires in homes while ensuring there is no new threat to residents.
Many residents also helped, spraying water and providing support to firefighters to speed up the fire extinguishing. The cooperation of the community was a great help in the rapid response to the incident.
Despite the danger, there were no reports of casualties, but authorities are still investigating the origin of the fire and the total damage to the homes. This incident is a reminder to all residents to be prepared for this type of emergency.
