The recently leaked teaser for Avengers: Doomsday showed the return of Steve Rogers to the MCU. In the footage, he gets off his motorcycle and enters a house, looking at an old Endgame uniform and then at a baby. It includes a piano version of the Avengers theme, with text that says “Steve Rogers will return in Avengers: Doomsday.”
Steve Rogers' return was a big surprise since his story ended happily in Endgame. He traveled to the 1940s, married Peggy Carter, and appeared as an adult to pass the Captain America shield to Sam Wilson. Because of this, many fans think that Steve has a big role in Doomsday, possibly causing the “Incursion” or collision of universes.
The identity of the baby is also a mystery. Based on Marvel lore, Sharon Rogers is the daughter of Steve and Peggy, who in the comics and games inherited the Captain America mantle. If this is her, there could be a new Captain America in the MCU.
In addition, the Russo brothers posted a black-and-white image with a “V” shape, possibly referring to Vision or the branch of Yggdrasil, which links to a possible timeline split.
Three new trailers are expected to coincide with the premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash, which could feature Thor and Victor von Doom. The long-awaited new Avengers film is about to make a big reveal.
