House Majority Leader Sandro Marcos said he is ready to appear before the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) to explain the allegations leveled against him by former congressman Zaldy Co regarding alleged irregularities in flood control projects. In his letter dated November 26, he assured full cooperation, answering questions, and providing clear details for the investigation.
Marcos said he is ready to participate at any time and has full respect for the ICI's work to find the truth. He further insisted that Co's allegations against him and the President are just part of the alleged destabilization aimed at disrupting the administration and diverting the issue from the problems Co is facing.
Meanwhile, the ICI confirmed that they “note” Marcos’ statement and will decide on the hearing date. Other issues related to flood control projects also continue to emerge, including the call for the DPWH to release the database of proponents in the National Expenditure Program, as well as the insistence of some congressmen that there are no ghost projects in their districts.
