The new Huawei FreeBuds Pro 5 can stream up to 4.6Mbps Lossless Audio, higher than the FreeBuds Pro 4 which only reaches 2.3Mbps. It was launched alongside new Mate devices such as the Mate 80 series, Mate X7, and MatePad Edge.
The new TWS earbuds have dual drivers—a dual-magnetic bass driver and micro-planar tweeter. They are also powered by the Kirin A3 audio chip with NearLink E2.0, which is responsible for higher quality audio streaming.
The FreeBuds Pro 5 support various audio codecs such as AAC, SBC, LDAC, and L2HC. It has an in-ear stem design with silicone eartips, while the case is pill-shaped. It is also one of the few TWS earbuds with Bluetooth 6.0 with multi-device connection, and has an IP57 rating for the earbuds and IP54 for the case.
The battery lasts up to 5 hours with ANC on, and 22 hours with the case. With ANC off, it lasts up to 8 hours and up to 33 hours with the case. There's a new Sky Blue color that uses vegan leather, which is rarely seen in an earbuds charging case.
The FreeBuds Pro 5 are being sold in China for CNY 1449 (approximately Php 12,000). Huawei is expected to release them in the global market soon.
