Two people were confirmed dead after an ultralight plane crashed into a rice field in Barangay Panalicsican, Concepcion, Tarlac this Saturday morning.
According to the Concepcion police, residents saw the two-seater plane circling the area around 11 a.m. before suddenly crashing into a rice field.
Based on initial investigation, the plane was piloted by a licensed pilot and was carrying an 18-year-old passenger from Macabebe, Pampanga. They were immediately taken to the Concepcion District Hospital by rescuers but were declared dead on arrival.
Authorities also learned that the plane was owned by a foreign national but the name has not yet been determined. Police and aviation experts are continuing to investigate what caused the crash.
Fortunately, no homes were affected by the accident.
