The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has arrested two foreigners in separate operations in Iloilo and Guimaras for various criminal and immigration violations.
Boyd Monte Murray, a 64-year-old American fugitive wanted in the U.S. since the 1990s, was arrested in Barangay Rizal, Jordan, Guimaras. He was charged with theft, larceny, and various scams, including the use of fake IDs such as a driver’s license and a fake CIA ID. It was also discovered that he had been hiding in the country for a long time since 2007 and may have even duped some residents in Western Visayas.
Meanwhile, in Mandurriao, Iloilo City, Italian Antonino Consoli, 40 years old, was arrested. His Filipina wife filed a complaint against him for domestic abuse and attempted murder in 2023. According to the Italian police, he also has a case of bank fraud and tax evasion worth approximately ₱180 million (3 million euros). In addition, he is overstaying and undocumented after his visa and passport expired.
Both Murray and Consoli are detained at the BI Warden Facility while their deportation cases are processed. However, it is possible that they will also face criminal cases here in the Philippines before being finally deported.
According to the BI, Murray will be deported for being undesirable alien, while Consoli is for overstaying and illegal business.
