Former Bulacan assistant district engineer Brice Hernandez has surrendered his ₱30 million Lamborghini Urus to the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI). This is part of the investigation into flood control anomalies.
Hernandez previously gave his ₱12 million GMC Denali to ICI. According to Benjamin Magalong, special adviser to ICI, Hernandez is expected to give away other luxury vehicles and motorcycles.
Atty. Raymond Fortun, Hernandez's lawyer, said that surrendering the vehicles is a sign of his client's sincerity and repentance. He added that it is also a way to demonstrate Hernandez's desire to become a state witness.
Meanwhile, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) is gathering evidence at Hernandez's house. Hernandez also wants to be included in the Witness Protection Program.
Hernandez was accompanied at the ICI hearing by his former boss Henry Alcantara and fellow assistant district engineer Jaypee Mendoza.
