The Land Transportation Office (LTO) summoned two engineers from the DPWH who are among the so-called “BGC Boys” for allegedly using fake driver’s licenses to enter a casino.
According to LTO Chief Vigor Mendoza II, those involved have been given show cause orders and are scheduled to appear in the hearing on September 12. They could face charges of using forged documents, license cancellation, and possible imprisonment.
The investigation revealed that the aliases used by the officers such as Brice Ericson Hernandez and Henry Alcantara do not have corresponding licenses in the LTO records. In addition, Mendoza said that their priority is to identify the source of the fake documents.
During a Senate hearing, it was revealed that the BGC Boys used aliases to enter and gamble away billions of pesos from government funds. The group's losses reportedly reached nearly ₱950,000,000 in various casinos in Manila, Cebu, and Pampanga.
LTO reminds that it is against the law to make, use, and carry fake licenses pursuant to R.A. 4136.
