The Land Transportation Office in Central Visayas (LTO-7) revoked or suspended the licenses of five vloggers in the first half of 2025 for traffic violations. They are among dozens of motorists who received penalties in the region.
According to LTO-7, 411 licenses were suspended from January to July 22. In addition, 12 licenses of drivers who accumulated more than 40 demerit points were also revoked. Among the violations are reckless driving, no license, failure to wear seatbelts, overcharging, and franchise violation.
There are also 28 licenses that were recommended for revocation after being involved in accidents or seen violating the law in viral videos. Meanwhile, three PUV drivers lost their licenses after testing positive for illegal drugs during random drug testing conducted at the Cebu North and South Bus Terminals during Holy Week.
Regional Director Glen Galario reminded that a driver’s license is a privilege and not a right. certificates from accredited driving schools and passing an examination are still required before obtaining a license. “This is a warning not only to PUV drivers but to all motorists,” he added.
