HelloSafe, a travel insurance company, has apologized after calling the Philippines the "least safe country in the world by 2025" based on their travel safety report.
According to a statement by HelloSafe on their website on July 15, they have suspended the release of rankings starting June 20, 2025 due to strong reactions from Filipinos, the media, and various institutions.
The company promised to conduct a complete review of the methods and basis used in producing the said report.
They also expressed their sincere apologies for the “confusion and disappointment” it has caused and for the negative perception that may have been created as a result of the report.
HelloSafe said they are ready to fix the error and clarify the questioned details of their study.
