A cow escaped from a game in Cataingan, Masbate on Saturday, June 21. This was part of the Juego del Toro, a game that was attended by DRRM personnel from various provinces in Bicol.
Instead of being stopped, it headed straight into the sea and swimmed away from the shore. Fortunately, the animal was rescued immediately when it was spotted by members of the Coast Guard who were patrolling the area.
According to Lt. John Louis Sibayan of the Coast Guard Masbate, rescuing the cow was not easy because it struggled while being rescued. The entire operation took 15 to 30 minutes.
The cow swam an estimated about 2 kilometers before it was finally rescued. No one was injured in the incident and the animal was returned safely.
This incident became the talk of the town because of the strange behavior of the cow in the middle of the game.
