A shooting incident occurred at the market of Barangay San Isidro, Rodriguez, Rizal on June 19, Thursday evening. According to CCTV, the 18-year-old suspect can be seen carrying a body bag, and a few seconds later pulled out a gun and shot the 21-year-old man....
The man was hit in the back while an 18-year-old vendor who was selling near the scene was also hit. Police said it stemmed from bad looks between the suspect and the victim. The victim had previously said he would shoot the suspect, so he went home to get a gun and returned fire on the victim.
According to PLtCol. Paul Sabulao, the police responded quickly and immediately arrested the suspect. The victim ran in the direction of the police, which led to the suspect being tracked down.
The suspect explained that the victim thought he was a member of a gang, so he threatened. Out of fear, he retaliated. He insisted that he did not use drugs and that his friend gave him the gun.
The suspect will face charges of Frustrated Murder, Frustrated Homicide, and Illegal Possession of Firearms. Currently, the two victims are still in the hospital while the investigation into the gun used continues.
