Star player Stephen Curry will still not play in Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Due to the strained left hamstring he suffered in Game 1, the Golden State Warriors will be forced to face the elimination game without Curry.
He also missed the Warriors' three straight losses in Games 2, 3, and 4, which is why the Timberwolves now have a 3-1 advantage. In an interview, Curry said, “Even if I wanted to be Superman, I couldn’t,” in response to Draymond Green's statement not to force his return if he's not ready.
Green maintained that Curry's health should be prioritized, and the team must find a way to win without him.
In the previous round against the Houston Rockets, Curry averaged 24 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists. In the regular season, he averaged 24.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 6 assists per game.
Curry is an 11-time All-Star, 2-time MVP, and 4-time NBA Champion. He is also the NBA's all-time 3-pointer leader with 4,058 threes — 900 more than the next best, James Harden.
