The Bureau of Immigration (BI) was shaken after receiving news of two Chinese nationals who attempted to leave the country via a backdoor or ‘backdoor’ using a boat in Tawi-Tawi.
According to BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado, Li Yu (27) and Liu Fei (35) were caught by the Maritime Police while aboard a ship from Zamboanga City. When they were arrested, they showed their passport photos and said they were from Parañaque.
With the help of the BI intelligence team, it was confirmed that the two have been on the blacklist since 2023 for working in areas involved in prostitution and labor exploitation. They also have a case of financial fraud in China, so they are also known as fugitives. They were taken to the BI facility in Taguig while their deportation is being processed.
