Pilita Corrales, known as "Asia's Queen of Songs", has passed away at the age of 87, according to a post by her daughter, Jackielou Blanco. According to Jackielou, Pilita was not only a famous singer but also a loving mother and grandmother who touched many lives.

Pilita is famous not only in the Philippines, but also in Australia and America, where she first rose to fame with the song "Come Closer To Me". She is the first Filipina to reach the Australian pop charts, and she even has a street named after her in Victoria.

Upon her return to the Philippines in 1963, she became famous on TV and concerts, and even performed with international stars such as Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, and Sammy Davis Jr. She was also one of the first Filipinas to perform at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.

Aside from singing, she was an actress, host, songwriter, and also a judge on X Factor Philippines in 2012. Her signature song "A Million Thanks to You" has been translated into 7 languages and has become part of OPM history.

Until her final years, Pilita continued to perform and share her talent. In fact, Janine Gutierrez and Baby Ruth Villarama are still making a documentary about her life for the Cannes Producer’s Network. She was a true OPM icon and will never be forgotten.
