Japanese Woman Retires at Age 34 After Saving for 16 Years

A woman from Japan has gone viral after retiring at the age of 34 because of her hard work and perseverance in saving money. Saki Tamogami started saving when she was 18 years old, and her goal was to buy property before she turned 35.

At 27 years old, Saki bought her first house worth 10 million yen (RM395,000). By 29, she had already bought a second house worth 18 million yen (RM711,000). And in May 2019, he bought a third house worth 37 million yen (RM1.4 million).

How did he do it? According to reports, he spent no more than 153 yen (RM6) every day. To save money, he didn't buy new clothes and had only worn second-hand clothes since he was 18 years old. As for food, he spent 50 yen (RM2) every day to cook udon with vegetables.

At the age of 29, she also sold her hair to earn extra money. After 16 years of hard work and sacrifice, she now owns three houses worth a total of 55 million yen (RM2.17 million).

Now, Saki is retired and earns from the rents on the empty rooms of her houses, which gives her a monthly income of 300,000 yen (RM11,800). In addition, she opened a cat cafe in her third house that helps adopt neglected cats. According to Saki, "Save for the things you love, that's where you will find the true meaning of being responsible in life."
