Controversial director Darryl Yap is now facing two cyber libel cases filed at the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court.
These cases were filed by the Muntinlupa City Prosecutor’s Office on March 17 after a preliminary investigation was conducted in connection with a complaint filed by Vic Sotto.
The controversial scene is from the teaser of the movie 'The Rapists of Pepsi Paloma' where Charito Solis (Gina Alajar) is seen angrily talking to Pepsi Paloma (Rhed Bustamante) and asking her:
"Did Vic Sotto rape you?"
After this, Pepsi responded long and emphatically:
YES
The text also appeared on the screen:
"Pepsi Paloma filed a rape case against Vic Sotto on August 17, 1982."

According to the prosecution, the scene is considered defamatory and has malicious intent to damage the reputation of Vic Sotto.
Because of this, Yap was accused of putting Sotto in a situation that could bring embarrassment, hatred, or defamation.
Each case has a recommended bail of P10,000.
In February, Darryl Yap announced that the film would no longer go ahead with its original premiere date of February 5. Instead, they plan to release it on streaming platforms.
