Standup comedian Gold Dagal was shot dead in Pampanga last Saturday.
Gold is known for his jokes about Church of Christ.
Kumpirmado ng non-profit organization na Project Jade ang pagpanaw ni Gold sa kanilang Facebook page.
"Rest in power, Gold," according to their post.
"For many, Gold is a comedian with crude humor. But for us, he is one of the few people who fought against human rights violationsand indoctrination. Justice for you, Gold. Thank you for your support of Project Jade. Get some rest," they added.
It is known that Gold has received several death threats after he joked about Iglesia ni Cristo. He also makes social commentaries to remind the public about human rights and abuse of power.
We tried to get a statement from the Pampanga Police but they have not responded to date.
