The aunt of late actress Kim Sae Ron took to the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute to reveal the actress's alleged relationship with Kim Soo Hyun and its role in her tragedy.
According to the aunt, Kim Sae Ron (15) and Kim Soo Hyun (27) started dating in 2015 and their relationship lasted for six years. In 2019, Kim Sae Ron joined Kim Soo Hyun's new company, GOLD MEDALIST, where she helped grow it without pay.
They reportedly separated in 2022 after Kim Sae Ron was involved in a DUI (drunk driving) case. According to the aunt, the GOLD MEDALIST offered to handle the case and paid ₩700 million KRW (₱27 million) in damages. But in 2024, Kim Sae Ron was ordered to pay it, as Kim Soo Hyun had not contacted him to ask for help.
With no response from the actor, Kim Sae Ron posted a photo of them on Instagram, but instead of receiving a response, the GOLD MEDALIST released a statement that seemed to be defaming him. Due to money problems, Kim Sae Ron became very sad and eventually committed suicide on Kim Soo Hyun's birthday.
Kim Soo Hyun and GOLD MEDALIST denied all accusations and announced that they would file a lawsuit against the YouTube channel. Meanwhile, Kim Sae Ron's father blamed YouTuber Lee Jin Ho for his daughter's death.
