Marcos Jr. Duterte responded with the "Kill" Statement

Tuesday, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. seems to have answered. former President Rodrigo Duterte's statement about the killing of leading candidates in pre-election surveys. He strongly criticized those who make threats instead of focusing on the development of the country.

According to Marcos Jr., the slate administration Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas is committed to finding solutions to the country's major problems through legislation, rather than arguing with political opponents.

Marcos Jr. turned on Duterte on the 'kill senators' remark

"I'm checking our candidates to see if anyone has detonated a grenade," the President jokingly said while with his 12 senatorial bets for the 2025 midterm elections in a sortie in Pasay City.

"'That's the difference between the Alliance and all those who are running... You won't hear any bad words. You will hear no threats. You won't hear any swearing," he added.

"It is clear what the direction of the Alliance is: It is development, not oppression, not intimidation, not shouting," said Marcos Jr.

The President further mentioned that the Alliance's candidates all have extensive experience in government as former senators, legislators, cabinet members, or local officials.

"They don't care about their work anymore. They already know what to do. They know the government. They learned from high positions," he said.

"They don't come anymore. They are just work. They don't want trouble. They have no intention of dismembering the Philippines," he added.

"What we need is a solution and not heated and heated words that have no meaning," the President emphasized.

It can be remembered that Duterte last week told PDP-Laban members and supporters that they should "kill" some leading candidates in the pre-election surveys so that their party can win the 12 seats in the Senate in the upcoming elections in May.
