In preparation for the upcoming Lunar New Year which will be held at the end of January 2025, IWC has unveiled their latest timepiece celebrating the Year of the Snake.
Katulad ng edisyong Year of the Dragon noong 2024, ang pinakabagong festive timepiece ay sumusunod sa burgundy at gold na color palette. Habang ang naunang alok ay isang masarap na reimahinasyon ng Portugieser Chronograph, ang Year of the Snake edition ay batay sa Portofino model na may kasamang moonphase complication.
Housed in a 37mm stainless steel case, the timepiece showcases a tasteful burgundy dial adorned with gold details — from the minute track, hour-markers, leaf-shaped hands, logos to the stars and moon.
The zodiac animal is integrated into the custom oscillating weight as a hand-engraved design, where it rotates in the 32800 in-house caliber with each rotation of the wrist. The movement is partially visible through the open sapphire caseback and has a 5-day power reserve.
In addition to the black leather strap, the Portofino Automatic Moon Phase 37 Year of the Snake edition comes with a burgundy calfskin strap for a seamless look. Limited to just 500 pieces, the timepiece is available at IWC with a price tag of $9,700 USD.
