Insta360 has updated its Ace action camera series with the launch of the new Insta360 Ace Pro 2, a product of its renewed collaboration with Leica from last year. The new camera has been enhanced to provide a "serious performance boost," according to the brand.
Insta360 also boasts a leading industry innovation with the dual-chip design of the Ace Pro 2, which enhances the camera's performance and image quality. One of the chips, the Pro Imaging Chip, focuses on image processing, including noise reduction in photos and videos. The other is the 5nm AI Chip that supports the Pro Imaging Chip and is dedicated to improving the overall user experience. This dual-chip design enables the camera to record in technically challenging ways, such as 4K at 120fps slow motion or 4K at 60fps with Active HDR.
There is also a new Wind Guard designed to reduce wind noise and other external sounds, along with a removable Lens Guard for added protection. These two accessories can be easily attached or removed using the camera's magnetic mounting system. The Ace Pro 2 features a larger 1800mAh battery for extended recording times, as well as an Endurance Mode that prolongs battery life, offering “50% longer runtime at 4K 30fps” compared to the previous model, according to Insta360.
Insta360 has also expanded the compatibility of their camera with various popular sports applications such as Garmin, Apple, COROS, and others. Users can download the Insta360 app to directly transfer information between devices.
