It was officially introduced by <strong data-start=\"568\" data-end=\"603\">SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp.<\/strong>, the authorized importer and distributor of BMW Motorrad in the country.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"675\" data-end=\"1077\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">BMW has long been known for its <strong data-start=\"715\" data-end=\"743\">high-torque boxer engine<\/strong> and robust <strong data-start=\"758\" data-end=\"780\">shaft drive system<\/strong>. In 1980, they launched the <strong data-start=\"813\" data-end=\"825\">R 80 G\/S<\/strong>, the first series-production enduro with a boxer engine. The \u201cG\/S\u201d comes from the German word <strong data-start=\"931\" data-end=\"949\">Gel\u00e4nde\/Stra\u00dfe<\/strong> (off-road\/street), symbolizing a balanced combination of <strong data-start=\"1005\" data-end=\"1074\">touring comfort, off-road capability, and dynamic road performance<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1079\" data-end=\"1352\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The new <strong data-start=\"1090\" data-end=\"1106\">BMW R 12 G\/S<\/strong> pays homage to its heritage while incorporating <strong data-start=\"1166\" data-end=\"1202\">modern engineering and technology<\/strong>. Limited to just <strong data-start=\"1223\" data-end=\"1248\">10 units in the Philippines<\/strong>, it is available in the <strong data-start=\"1267\" data-end=\"1306\">Option 719 Sandrover Matt\/Aragonite<\/strong> variant priced at <strong data-start=\"1332\" data-end=\"1349\">PHP 1,755,000<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1354\" data-end=\"1850\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The R 12 G\/S is powered by a <strong data-start=\"1381\" data-end=\"1420\">1,170cc air\/oil-cooled boxer engine<\/strong>, which produces <strong data-start=\"1429\" data-end=\"1460\">109 horsepower at 7,000 rpm<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1464\" data-end=\"1494\">115 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm<\/strong>. It features <strong data-start=\"1512\" data-end=\"1586\">long-travel suspension, cross-spoke wheels, and a compact cockpit fairing<\/strong>, reinforcing its enduro-ready stance. All units in the Philippines come with the <strong data-start=\"1677\" data-end=\"1699\">Enduro Package Pro<\/strong>, including <strong data-start=\"1714\" data-end=\"1847\">21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels with knobby tires, handguards, reinforced belly pan, handlebar riser, and 875mm seat height<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1852\" data-end=\"2283\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Modern rider aids include <strong data-start=\"1884\" data-end=\"1934\">Rain, Road, Enduro, and Enduro Pro riding modes<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1936\" data-end=\"2025\">Dynamic Traction Control, engine drag torque control, ABS Pro, and Shift Assistant Pro<\/strong>.
