This aims to support the <strong data-start=\"640\" data-end=\"680\">mental health and physical well-being<\/strong> of employees.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"699\" data-end=\"1097\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Currently, DPWH employees and officials have about <strong data-start=\"765\" data-end=\"794\">40 days of vacation leave<\/strong> a year, including <strong data-start=\"823\" data-end=\"903\">15 days of vacation leave, 15 days of sick leave, and 3 days of special leave<\/strong>. The additional wellness leave can be used for <strong data-start=\"957\" data-end=\"1045\">mental health care, physical wellness activities, or simply a break from work<\/strong>, according to Public Works Secretary <strong data-start=\"1079\" data-end=\"1094\">Vince Dizon<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1099\" data-end=\"1470\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">According to a <strong data-start=\"1119\" data-end=\"1152\">department order issued on Feb. 3<\/strong>, wellness leave is <strong data-start=\"1176\" data-end=\"1269\">available to all permanent, temporary, coterminous, and contractual employees<\/strong>, including <strong data-start=\"1284\" data-end=\"1330\">Contract of Service and Job Order personnel<\/strong>. It cannot be converted into money or monetized, to ensure that it is truly beneficial for the employee's health.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1472\" data-end=\"1879\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong data-start=\"1475\" data-end=\"1484\">Dizon<\/strong>, who was appointed last September, immediately implemented reforms in the department that focused on the issue of <strong data-start=\"1615\" data-end=\"1647\">ghost flood control projects<\/strong> and widespread corruption in the DPWH. These included <strong data-start=\"1699\" data-end=\"1757\">the reduction of Construction Materials Price Data (CMPD)<\/strong> in all regional and District Engineering Offices, which saved nearly <strong data-start=\"1837\" data-end=\"1852\">P60 billion<\/strong> in government projects.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1881\" data-end=\"2150\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">This step by the DPWH is a clear <strong data-start=\"1928\" data-end=\"1967\">focus on employee well-being<\/strong> and the integrity of the department.
