The move is to ensure the <strong data-start=\"687\" data-end=\"718\">continuous and safe travel<\/strong> of passengers on the said route.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"756\" data-end=\"1120\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">According to Transportation Secretary <strong data-start=\"790\" data-end=\"808\">Giovanni Lopez<\/strong>, President <strong data-start=\"831\" data-end=\"855\">Ferdinand Marcos Jr.<\/strong> has ordered the safety of areas served by Zamboanga City-based Aleson Shipping. At the same time, the <strong data-start=\"994\" data-end=\"1026\">Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)<\/strong> and MARINA are conducting a <strong data-start=\"1041\" data-end=\"1071\">comprehensive inspection<\/strong> and safety audit of all the company's ships.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1122\" data-end=\"1440\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The MV Trisha Kerstin 3 sank in Basilan with <strong data-start=\"1179\" data-end=\"1206\">344 passengers and crew<\/strong> \u2014 18 confirmed dead and 10 missing. Despite the tragedy, <strong data-start=\"1294\" data-end=\"1318\">the PCG<\/strong> continues to conduct rescue operations using technical divers and remotely operated vehicles to <strong data-start=\"1403\" data-end=\"1437\">find the missing people<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1442\" data-end=\"1790\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Sen. <strong data-start=\"1463\" data-end=\"1478\">Raffy Tulfo<\/strong>, chair of the Senate Committee on Public Services, criticized MARINA for why Aleson Shipping is still operating despite <strong data-start=\"1613\" data-end=\"1653\">reports of accidents since 2019<\/strong>. Meanwhile, MARINA assured that there are <strong data-start=\"1691\" data-end=\"1705\">help desks<\/strong> at Aleson Shipping so that <strong data-start=\"1731\" data-end=\"1787\">victims can immediately get their insurance claims<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1792\" data-end=\"2192\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">To address the shortage of vessels, PCG spokesperson <strong data-start=\"1860\" data-end=\"1887\">Captain Noemie Cayabyab<\/strong> said they will use <strong data-start=\"1910\" data-end=\"1952\">44-meter vessels for free rides<\/strong> on routes affected by the audit and inspection. So far, more than <strong data-start=\"2021\" data-end=\"2037\">316 passengers<\/strong> have been rescued from the sunken ferry.
