The appointment follows Senator <strong data-start=\"693\" data-end=\"711\">Panfilo Lacson<\/strong>'s announcement that he will relinquish the chairmanship due to his multiple duties as <strong data-start=\"787\" data-end=\"819\">Senate President Pro Tempore<\/strong> and chair of the <strong data-start=\"832\" data-end=\"854\">Accounts Committee<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"858\" data-end=\"883\">Blue Ribbon Committee<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"888\" data-end=\"1423\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Members of other committees were also elected. In the <strong data-start=\"959\" data-end=\"1044\">Committee on Civil Service, Government Reorganization and Professional Regulation<\/strong>, including <strong data-start=\"1063\" data-end=\"1148\">Senators JV Ejercito, Mark Villar, Raffy Tulfo, Bam Aquino, and Sherwin Gatchalian<\/strong> for the majority, while <strong data-start=\"1179\" data-end=\"1209\">Bong Go and Joel Villanueva<\/strong> for the minority. Go was also elected as <strong data-start=\"1256\" data-end=\"1270\">vice chair<\/strong>. In the <strong data-start=\"1275\" data-end=\"1295\">Ethics Committee<\/strong>, Villanueva, Go, and <strong data-start=\"1321\" data-end=\"1349\">Senator Ronald dela Rosa<\/strong> complete the minority panel that will monitor the conduct of senators.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1425\" data-end=\"1870\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Senate President <strong data-start=\"1452\" data-end=\"1473\">Vicente Sotto III<\/strong> said there could be a change in the chairmanship of some committees, following the first majority caucus after the Yuletide break. \u201cWe also discussed the organizational meetings of other committees\u2026 there could be a change in chairmanship,\u201d he explained. The move is part of a broader reorganization of Senate leadership to make deliberations more effective.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1872\" data-end=\"2300\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The senators also discussed the <strong data-start=\"1905\" data-end=\"1935\">anti-political dynasty law<\/strong>, which aims to limit the scope of political dynasties at the local government level. According to Lacson, it would be better to start with a \"gateway\" law in the city or town before expanding to the provincial level. Its goal is to ban members of political families up to the <strong data-start=\"2218\" data-end=\"2238\">2nd civil degree<\/strong>, without suddenly forcing broader changes.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"2302\" data-end=\"2788\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Apart from the anti-dynasty bill, the majority also criticized <strong data-start=\"2361\" data-end=\"2379\">priority bills<\/strong>, including the <strong data-start=\"2394\" data-end=\"2440\">Independent People's Commission (IPC) bill<\/strong>. According to Sotto, the hearing will continue to prioritize the anti-dynasty law and the amendments to the <strong data-start=\"2548\" data-end=\"2573\">Party-list System Act<\/strong>. Meanwhile, there is no information yet on <strong data-start=\"2617\" data-end=\"2642\">Sen.
