The volcano remains at <strong data-start=\"554\" data-end=\"571\">Alert Level 3<\/strong>, meaning the surrounding area is at high risk.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"628\" data-end=\"889\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">In an advisory issued on <strong data-start=\"658\" data-end=\"677\">Monday, January 19<\/strong>, Phivolcs reported <strong data-start=\"703\" data-end=\"726\">297 rockfall events<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"730\" data-end=\"765\">57 pyroclastic density currents<\/strong> during the same period. They also said that Mayon erupted <strong data-start=\"836\" data-end=\"871\">3,788 tons of sulfur dioxide<\/strong> on January 18.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"891\" data-end=\"1128\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">According to Phivolcs, <strong data-start=\"927\" data-end=\"969\">lava dome growth and lava flow effusion<\/strong> are still active, while <strong data-start=\"982\" data-end=\"997\">crater glow<\/strong> is considered \u201cfair\u201d and visible to the naked eye. These are clear signs that the volcano's activity remains <strong data-start=\"1091\" data-end=\"1125\">high<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1130\" data-end=\"1380\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The agency emphasized strict avoidance of the <strong data-start=\"1184\" data-end=\"1223\">six-kilometer permanent danger zone<\/strong>, due to the risk of <strong data-start=\"1246\" data-end=\"1271\">explosions, rockfalls<\/strong>, and other <strong data-start=\"1285\" data-end=\"1305\">volcanic hazards<\/strong>. The public was advised not to approach or walk around the volcano.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1382\" data-end=\"1607\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Seismologists added, <strong data-start=\"1413\" data-end=\"1473\">aircraft flying near the volcano is prohibited<\/strong> to avoid danger.
