An estimated <strong data-start=\"390\" data-end=\"432\">one in every five Filipino families<\/strong> experienced <strong data-start=\"450\">unintentional hunger<\/strong> in the past three months, showing a slight decrease compared to previous months.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"578\" data-end=\"904\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Based on the survey conducted in the last week of November, <strong data-start=\"641\" data-end=\"660\">20.1 percent<\/strong> of respondents said they had <strong data-start=\"701\" data-end=\"744\">experienced hunger and food insecurity<\/strong> at least once in the past three months. This is lower than the <strong data-start=\"810\" data-end=\"827\">22 percent<\/strong> recorded in September, indicating small but significant progress.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"906\" data-end=\"1242\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">However, the average hunger rate remains <strong data-start=\"931\" data-end=\"965\">high<\/strong> throughout 2025, almost at the same level as in 2024. This is still higher than in the <strong data-start=\"1057\" data-end=\"1080\">post-pandemic years<\/strong>, where the percentage of hunger was lower. This shows that the <strong data-start=\"1162\" data-end=\"1188\">economic recovery<\/strong> has not yet been fully felt by all sectors.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1244\" data-end=\"1558\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">In terms of region, <strong data-start=\"1266\" data-end=\"1310\">the highest hunger rate is in Mindanao<\/strong>, followed by <strong data-start=\"1324\" data-end=\"1351\">Visayas and Metro Manila<\/strong>, while <strong data-start=\"1360\" data-end=\"1406\">the lowest is in the rest of Luzon<\/strong>. Notably, <strong data-start=\"1431\" data-end=\"1447\">Metro Manila<\/strong> has the highest average throughout the year, reflecting ongoing challenges even in urban areas.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1560\" data-end=\"1916\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The latest data is composed of <strong data-start=\"1594\" data-end=\"1613\">moderate hunger<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1617\" data-end=\"1634\">severe hunger<\/strong>, with a higher proportion experiencing hunger once or a few times, while a smaller proportion of families are often or always hungry.
