According to <strong data-start=\"572\" data-end=\"586\">Gabriel Go<\/strong>, head of the MMDA Special Operations Group\u2013Strike Force, this is part of the agency's ongoing efforts to keep <strong data-start=\"703\" data-end=\"739\">main roads clear, particularly <strong data-start=\"755\" data-end=\"788\">Mel Lopez Boulevard or Road 10<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"793\" data-end=\"1065\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">\u201c<strong data-start=\"794\" data-end=\"892\">We'll clear it today, we'll be back tomorrow. After a few days, it'll be there again<\/strong>,\u201d said Go. \u201cWe have instances where we towed the car, then when we returned, same place, same parking\u2026 <strong data-start=\"1014\" data-end=\"1062\">We have to be enough with being hard headed.<\/strong>\u201d<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1067\" data-end=\"1405\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The operation included the removal of <strong data-start=\"1109\" data-end=\"1127\">street vendors<\/strong> and even the feast decorations of <strong data-start=\"1171\" data-end=\"1185\">Santo Ni\u00f1o<\/strong> that were blocking the road. One of the vendors objected when the MMDA took away his stall. \u201c<strong data-start=\"1282\" data-end=\"1391\">We have no other place to go. That's to find a job. We'll be more afraid if we don't have anything to eat<\/strong>,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1407\" data-end=\"1771\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The <strong data-start=\"1436\" data-end=\"1448\">tricycles<\/strong> and several <strong data-start=\"1458\" data-end=\"1470\">vehicles<\/strong> also did not survive. There was a tricycle without a plate number and operated by a driver without a license. \u201c<strong data-start=\"1554\" data-end=\"1650\">This is my only livelihood, they took my livelihood away. What will I feed my five children?<\/strong> I don't have a budget,\u201d said the driver. Several motorists who violated traffic rules were also issued <strong data-start=\"1757\" data-end=\"1768\">tickets<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1773\" data-end=\"2214\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The MMDA admitted that they are not targeting the poor in the clearing operation. \u201c<strong data-start=\"1849\" data-end=\"1954\">Our clearing is not anti-poor. When we clear you, it is because you have a violation<\/strong>,\u201d Go explained. At the same time, the <strong data-start=\"1992\" data-end=\"2018\">Manila Police District<\/strong> is working with barangays to promote <strong data-start=\"2075\" data-end=\"2097\">discipline in Tondo<\/strong>.
