According to the agency, the <strong data-start=\"461\" data-end=\"499\">electronic driver\u2019s license (e-DL)<\/strong> is a <strong data-start=\"509\" data-end=\"547\">legitimate and official alternative<\/strong> to a physical license, especially in cases where the driver does not carry his physical card.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"649\" data-end=\"1160\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The DOTr clarified that the <strong data-start=\"691\" data-end=\"713\">e-Driver\u2019s License<\/strong> can be accessed through <strong data-start=\"732\" data-end=\"778\">official government digital platforms<\/strong>, as long as the license holder has an active account. Under the existing order, <strong data-start=\"870\" data-end=\"925\">a motorist shall not be arrested or penalized<\/strong> if he or she properly presents his or her e-DL at the time of inspection or checkpoint. This is intended to reduce <strong data-start=\"1039\" data-end=\"1090\">hassle, delay, and unnecessary disputes<\/strong> between enforcers and motorists, particularly riders.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1162\" data-end=\"1612\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The DOTr added that this step is part of the government's broader program for the <strong data-start=\"1257\" data-end=\"1294\">digitalization of public services<\/strong>. At the same time, <strong data-start=\"1337\" data-end=\"1380\">online settlement of traffic violations<\/strong> can now be carried out, providing a <strong data-start=\"1403\" data-end=\"1446\">faster, safer, and more modern experience<\/strong> for the public.
