A large shipment from Congo<\/strong> was seized by personnel of the Bureau of Customs\u2013NAIA<\/strong>, worth P114.5 million<\/strong>. The shipment was declared as malachite stones<\/strong>, but an x-ray scan revealed suspicious images<\/strong>, prompting further inspection.<\/span><\/p>

According to the BOC, the inspection uncovered four boxes<\/strong> containing suspected illegal drugs<\/strong> weighing 4,320g, 3,622g, 4,599g, and 4,307g<\/strong>, for a total weight of 16,848 grams<\/strong>. These drugs are possibly shabu<\/strong>, based on the BOC's photos and report.<\/span><\/p>

After the seizure, the seized drugs were turned over to PDEA<\/strong>, along with the individuals involved<\/strong> in the illegal importation. This action is part of the ongoing campaign against illegal drugs<\/strong> and smuggling in the country.<\/span><\/p>

Those involved in the incident are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165<\/strong> or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as well as Republic Act No. 10863<\/strong> or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act. These laws aim to protect the country from drugs and illegal goods<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>
