Five cases were reported in France, while a woman in Bosnia died after a tree suddenly fell after heavy snow.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"719\" data-end=\"1117\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Many flights were canceled at Paris airports\u2014<strong data-start=\"824\" data-end=\"860\">Roissy-Charles de Gaulle and Orly<\/strong>\u2014to clear snow from runways and de-ice planes. In the Netherlands, trains were halted as temperatures dropped to <strong data-start=\"972\" data-end=\"1006\">-10\u00b0C<\/strong>, while in Britain temperatures reached <strong data-start=\"1036\" data-end=\"1058\">-12.5\u00b0C in Norfolk<\/strong>, posing a danger to motorists and pedestrians.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1119\" data-end=\"1491\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Three people died in France due to <strong data-start=\"1212\" data-end=\"1225\">black ice<\/strong> while a taxi driver drowned after going off track in the Marne River in Paris. Another driver died after colliding with a heavy goods vehicle. In Bosnia, a woman died after being hit by a tree in Sarajevo, caused by heavy snow.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1493\" data-end=\"1822\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">More than 300 schools in Scotland have been closed, while train services have also been affected. In Albania, several homes had to be evacuated due to flooding. The Scottish transport minister has warned the public to plan ahead and if possible <strong data-start=\"1778\" data-end=\"1800\">work from home<\/strong> for safety.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1824\" data-end=\"2239\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Minors and senior citizens were advised not to go out unless absolutely necessary. In France, walking on icy pavements in Paris was difficult, and some tour guides said they felt like <strong data-start=\"2056\" data-end=\"2082\">climbing Mont Blanc<\/strong> due to the difficulty of the snow and ice.
